Announcing The DEAD-INN™ Stink Bug Trap
The DEAD-INN™ Stink Bug Trap. This is a trap that really works. No-Hype. Just Results.
Denver, CO March 7, 2011: The DEAD-INN™ Stink Bug Trap is a dynamic combination of a pheromone lure and visual attraction. The patented design of color and shape was developed for maximum effectiveness based on the searching behavior of the stink bug. The lure is a potent eco-friendly aggregation pheromone synthesized under strict guidelines. It is enclosed in a controlled release dispenser that continues to attract bugs for 30 or more days. When bugs enter the trap they have a tough time getting out and eventually die. The reusable trap will catch hundreds and hundreds of stink bugs. Empty the trap when full.
The lure will attract bugs up to distance of 50 feet. Both immature stages and adults are attracted to the trap. Adults in hibernation indoors are not attracted to the aggregation lure, but we are working on this. The trap was designed so that beneficial insects are not attracted. The lure is only attractive to the Asian Stink bug (Brown Marmorated), Green Stink bug, and some minor species.
The stink bug was first found in Eastern Pennsylvania in the mid-1990s. It was imported from Asia where it is common and kept under control by beneficial insects. Because of few natural predators in the U.S., the population is now rapidly expanding. Our pheromone lure was vigorously tested in stink bug research programs in 2010 in various trap designs. The lure proved to be an excellent attractant. From those USDA and university trials the DEAD-INN™ Stink Bug Trap was developed.
Adult and immature stages of stink bug become active outdoors starting in early Spring. The population increases throughout the Summer and continues into late Fall when cold temperatures force adults into hibernation indoors and protected areas. Adults and immatures are very destructive to fruits, vegetables, blossoms, and buds. They can even feed on leaves and plant stems. Adults become a major nuisance in late summer and fall when they try and enter homes and other buildings.
The DEAD- INN™ Stink Bug Trap will make its debut at the Greater Philadelphia Spring Home and Landscape Show, King of Prussia, PA, March 25-27, and in stores in time for the Spring season. It will retail for $24.95 which includes a 30 day lure. Replacement lures will be separately available.
AgBio, Inc., a Colorado based company was established in 1990 to supply Eco-Friendly pest control products to both homeowners and professional growers.
