BeetleBlock-Verbenone

Repellent for the control of Mountain Pine and Ips Beetle
BeetleBlock-Verbenone Label

What is BeetleBlock-Verbenone?

BeetleBlock-Verbenone is approved for Mountain Pine Beetle control. Verbenone is a natural pheromone that beetles emit when when the population of a tree has reached a high level. The pheromone is a signal to adult beetles to stay away because the tree cannot support full development of the population that has already infested the tree. Beetles turn away and seek another food source. The verbenone in  BeetleBlock  is an exact mimic of the verbenone naturally produced by beetles.

BeetleBlock is user and Eco-Friendly.  Unlike the insecticides approved for Mt. Pine Beetle control, BeetleBlock-Verbenone does not kill bees, beneficial insects, aquatic organisms.  Not restricted use.

Easy to use controlled release dispenser that is hung on individual specimen trees or placed in a grid pattern when wanting to protect acreage.  Don't be fooled by products that need to be placed as dollops around the tree. These diluted, waxed based products DO NOT perform better than the standard BeetleBlock dispenser, are more labor intensive, and more costly.

Registered by EPA and most Rocky Mountain States. All pheromones in controlled release dispensers are approved organic by USDA/NOP.

Commercially used 2007-2018 in AZ, CO, ID, OR, NM, and WA by the U.S. Forest Service, BLM, State and Town agencies, recreation areas, HOAs in high value recreational or private land holdings.  Independent tests results available.

BeetleBlock-Verbenone fits well into an IPM (integrated pest management) approach to beetle control where it has been successfully used in recreation areas, campgrounds, HOAs, private land holdings, Forest Service lands and National Parks.
