USDA Management Approach

•Bait apple trees in perimeter rows with attractive olfactory stimuli just prior to petal fall.

•Apply a full block insecticide application at petal fall to control most of the immigrating population.  50-60% immigrates into orchard by petal fall.

•Treat only the trap trees on perimeter rows as needed after petal fall.

•Eliminates the need for additional full block insecticide applications or even full perimeter row sprays.
